Trim Tag Info Chevy Trim tags (also know as the Cowl tag) are a thin piece of metal stamped with information codes such as; build date, paint color, seat info, engine (sometimes incorrect), accessories, and more. The Trim tag is located on the fire wall behind the brake booster or master cylinder.
During the 1960 to 1964 Chevrolet cars were build with mainly three deferent styles of Trim Tags. Click on the link below to view the different styles. Before 1960 was considered Style 1. 60 to 64 Chevy Trim Tag Style 2 60 to 64 Chevy Trim Tag Style 3 60 to 64 Chevy Trim Tag Style 4 1965 to early 1968 Chevrolet cars were built with this style trim Tag. Late model 1968 to 1979 Chevrolet cars had this style trim Tag. (Some contained an additional 4th line) Late 69 to 79 Chevy Trim Tag w/ 4th line
